Jalan-Jalan Makan Angin #2: Melaka

On 24.12.2009, I with my girlfriend have a short trip to Melaka. Since we have limited time, we drove directly to Badar Hilir and hanging around at Dataran Pahlawan. The are a lot of historical place you can visit there... You can click this hyperlink for further reading about Melaka

The state of Malacca covers an area of 1,650-sq. km. or 1.3 percent of the whole area of Malaysia. The state is divided into 3 districts, that is Central Melaka (Melaka Tengah) (314 km²), Alor Gajah (660 km²), and Jasin (676 km²).

Malacca is located on the southwestern coast of Malay Peninsula opposite Sumatra, with the state of Negeri Sembilan to the north and Johor to the east. Malacca is also situated roughly two-thirds of the way down the West coast, 148 km south of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia and 245 km north of Singapore and commanding a central position on the Straits of Malacca. The state capital Malacca Town is strategically located between the two national capitals (of Malaysia and Singapore respectively) and is linked with excellent roads and highways. Malacca is yet to have its own train station, though the terminal at Tampin, Negeri Sembilan is easily accessible. It has a domestic airport terminal located in Batu Berendam.
The offshore Pulau Besar (Malacca) is also part of Malacca.

Here is some of the photo on that day....

Menara Taming Sari
From a height of 80 metres and a view of 5km, you will witness a host of interesting sight and historical sights of Malacca. Among them are Banda Hilir, Dataran Pahlawan, Malacca Straits, TUDM Complex, Stadhuys, Saint Paul Peak, Independence Memorial, Malacca Islan and the state mosque.

Eye On MalaysiaPlans are afoot to bring in a whole host of world-class attractions in stages to complement the Eye on Malaysia's move to Melaka. These attractions include a permanent Malaysia International Space Adventure (MISA) exhibit andthe Light and Sound Giant Waterscreen Showcase, scheduled to open in December 2008 and February 2009 respectively.

Trishaw Ride
The best way to enjoy Melaka in a slow and laid-back manner. The trishaw will take you through streets and corners of Melaka that you may miss out if you go on your own. The trishaw can be rented on an hourly or distance covered basis at the Stadthuys.

A' Famosa / Porta de Santiago
This hallmark of Melaka was built by the Portuguese in 1511 as a fortress. It sustained severe damage during the Dutch invasion in 1641. Timely intervention by Sir Stamford Raffles and Lord Minto in 1808 saved what remains of the fort today.

The Stadthuys
Built in the 17th century as the official residence of Dutch Governors and their officers, the Stadthuys is an excellent example of Dutch architecture. It now houses the History and Ethnography Museum, displaying relics from Melaka's glorious past.

Clock Tower
The clock tower was erected in 1886 by the Tan family using a clock imported from England. In 1982, the old clock was replaced by a new one and it is still functioning, to date. The tower is located next to the Queen Victoria Fountain in Dutch Square.

Can you see a men in that trishaw??
"I'm really tired...please don't disturb me!"
ha-ha...

Salam Maal Hijrah 1431

Ya Allah All Mighty, like how You sent Ababil birds to defend your holy House from Abrahah, Your army of mosquitoes to Namrood, your countless help to our holy prophets, we beg your Mercy oh Merciful, please aid our brothers and sisters in Palestine, help them to defend your second home Baitul Muqaddis, we are but powerless now. Please by All your Grace send your help to us, we have finished all other means, now we turn to your Aid. Amin Ya Rahim, Ya Malik, Ya Hakim. Ya Rob Al Alameen.
My Muslim brothers, please copy this signature and recite it as a doa to help our brothers and sisters in Palestine.

1 Muharam detik permulaan
Perkiraan tahun Islam Hijrah
Perpindahan Nabi dan umat Islam
Dari Kota Mekah ke Kota Madinah

Atas keyakinan dan iman yang teguh
Kaum Muhajirin dan Ansar bersatu
Rela berkorban harta dan nyawa
Demi menegakkan Islam tercinta

Hijrah itu pengorbanan
Hijrah itu perjuangan
Hijrah itu persaudaraan
Hijrah membentuk perpaduan

Oleh itu, mari semua
Kita sambut Maal Hijrah
Tingkatkan semangat tegakkan syiar islam
Untuk sepanjang zaman
Untuk sepanjang zaman
Untuk sepanjang zaman…!!

Early e-books were generally written for specialty areas and a limited audience, meant to be read only by small and devoted interest groups. The scope of the subject matter of these e-books included technical manuals for hardware, manufacturing techniques, and other subjects.

Numerous e-book formats emerged and proliferated, some supported by major software companies such as Adobe's PDF format, and others supported by independent and open-source programmers. Multiple readers naturally followed multiple formats, most of them specializing in only one format, and thereby fragmenting the e-book market even more. Due to exclusiveness and limited readerships of e-books, the fractured market of independents and specialty authors lacked consensus regarding a standard for packaging and selling e-books. E-books continued to gain in their own underground markets. Many e-book publishers began distributing books that were in the public domain. At the same time, authors with books that were not accepted by publishers offered their works online so they could be seen by others. Unofficial (and occasionally unauthorized) catalogs of books became available over the web, and sites devoted to e-books began disseminating information about e-books to the public.

For Aerospace student, you can download related Ebook at Aerospace Engineering. This may help your a little bit.
